SAGIP KALIKASAN: TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY

NURTURING THE NATURE

           In cooperation with the Mabini Municipal Office, the Batangas II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BATELEC II) conducted once again its annual “Sagip Kalikasan: Tree Planting Activity” last July 24, 2015 at Sitio Gulugod Baboy, Brgy. Laurel, Mabini, Batangas, in consonance with the National Electrification Administration – Electric Cooperatives’ (NEA-ECs) Nationwide Tree Planting Program.

           According to the Municipal Mayor of Mabini, Batangas, Hon. Nilo M. Villanueva, through this joint project, they are using the tree planting activity to impart a sense of environmental awareness since Sitio Gulugod Baboy have been the center of one of the tourist spots in Mabini nowadays.

          Participated by more than One Hundred (100) volunteers, sixty (60) employees of BATELEC II and about forty (40) Barangays and Municipal Officials of Mabini,  Two Thousand Five Hundred (2,500) seedlings of “dwarf caballero.” were planted

          Hon. Vice-Mayor Elmar Panopio together with some of the members of the Sanguniang Bayan visited the volunteers and joined the table for the prepared lunch.

          BATELEC II has already planted more than 9,000 trees within its coverage area since the Cooperative started the annual tree planting activity in 2009.
